Picked up a 13" Ultimate coil for my V3i

I was looking for some coil options and got a good deal on the 13" black Ultimate coil Detech is manufacturing for Whites (thank you Larry at NWI).

What a nice coil. I was afraid it might be too big, but it isn't. Light weight. Easy to swing. I haven't used it yet but I plan to this coming Sunday morning and see how it performs on a sports field before I take it old coin hunting down in the valley. I'm hoping to come back with a good report as I already have an itch to buy a couple more for my Fisher and Tek units.

Anybody got a good report on these already?

you will be very happy with it in areas of low trash good separation, I would say about 6" between individual shallow targets. can not tell you about depth I have only used it a couple of time in areas without deep stuff on my DFX.

interesting, i thought it was just real shallow targets.. seems to pinpoint at the ends rather than the center... will have to see what the VDI is next time I am out and it does that..

I had forgotten about the Balloon Fiesta. So instead of detecting I met up with friends and family at the church parking lot early Sunday morning and enjoyed eating breakfast and watching hot air balloons.

Not in my opinion/experience airscapes. Mine seems to pinpoint between the logo and center like magic. When something has pinpointed way off, it is usually halo effect and/or small ferrous items. And not necessarily shallow. Sometimes, but not always. And small junky ferrous is almost always in the sidewall

This coil has not come off my machine since the spring. I have it on my V3i currently, but put it on the MXT when the V was being serviced. The MXT and U13 can't be beat.
