Picked up new XL Pro Today

To make a long story short, I sold my XL Pro a few years ago  and I have been kicking myself in the butt every since. I did not have the cash handy when Kellyco was blowing the XL Pro inventory out on sale and I thought I had missed out on ever getting a new one again. I had checked around including looking at the display at my local dealer as well as looking on the web and no dealer that I could find had any XL Pro detectors left in stock so I purchased the Whites M6 instead. Then today I was at my local Whites dealer and during our conversation about detectors that we have liked and used over the years, I found out he had a new old stock XL Pro tucked away in the back of the store and it was still in the box. Needless to say, I broke out the plastic and purchased it right then and there, boy am I happy  I got my old favorite back and I will never part with this one. I also picked up the 8" coil as well, then I took her home and put my protective meter cover on, then I installed some protective wire loom wrap on the coil wire, and lastly I put on some bicycle cork tape on the foam grip to protect it from wear. Now she is ready to go and I hope to hunt with her this weekend.

Take care everyone,
Bill G

A few years ago, I sold my XL Pro and regretted it from day one. Seven months ago, I finally bought another one and plan on keeping it for a long time. Congratulations on your new XL Pro...and post some good things that you find with it. Kelley (Texas) :)

I picked up the Meter cover from the big K or Kellyco( there name may not show due to them not being a sponsor) for my old XL Pro that I had sold. I just kept the cover and put it on the new XL Pro. I wrapped the coil cable with a 1/4" plastic wire loom material I get from Pep Boys auto parts store. I tape the loom material every few inches with black tape to keep it on the cable. I also wrap my rods with one thin coat of black tape thin cut out the holes in the rod with a exacto knife. The good thing about all of this is when I go to sell a detector I remove everything wipe the rods down with Goo Gone to remove tape glue residue and the detector looks brand new and shows no field wear other than the bottom of the coil cover.

Take Care,
Bill G
