Picking areas clean/cleaner...

I am really finding that in the areas that have a VERY HIGH trash content, like parks, pic-nic areas, outside vending areas, etc....

It really helps to go over the area a couple times using a smaller coil like the 5x8 or the 6.5x9 first.

You need to dig up most if not all the targets you find though, so you get some of the trash out of the way.

Then go over the same area using a larger coil, like the 8.5x11 coil or the 9x12 coil to get the deeper targets.

With the upper items and trash out of the way, definitely makes it easier then if you try to start right off with the larger coils.

I call that prepping a area for the big boys. Using a small coil, stripping the area of tabs , aluminum slaw, easy coins etc. Places like this Give up a lot of nickels along with the tabs. There's always a chance of gold, silver.

I think it's a good idea, but if you're going to commit like that you might as well use a PI and dig everything. You'll get a bit deeper too.
