I made them from blank ATS-34 steel, it is harder and tougher than the 440C, holds an edge really great, wish I had a few more pics of some I have made, have used all kinds of handle materials, this one in the pic the handle is just a little longer than I usually made, cause the guy asked me to make it that way, the black part of the handle is some kind of horn from Africa, forgot the name of it lol. Need to make one for me now, gave them all away hehehe.
