picture story from today"s treasure hunt

I had time for my first hunt of the year and took to a section of woods close to home. I was in search of a cellar hole I had heard about. I walked across the field and turned on the detector as I neared the woods. The first spot I searched was an abandoned apple orchard by a large white oine. I dug a few pieces of metal then tried by a rock a few feet from the tree. I got a large signal and figured it was another piece of flashing. I dug down 5" and say silver. I pried out the glass bottomed mug and checked for writing. My first thought when I read the inscription was, someone buried this. then I noticed the clay shards and writing on the ceramic. I researched the hole and found the button. By this time I knew for sure. I checked the hole again and found the bracelet with her name on it. I decided to put evrything back in the mug without rechecking the hole and bury it once more. While searching for more of the clay mug I found the ring. This too went in the mug and I buried it and said a prayer for Colleen. I searched next to another rock close by and got a great signal right next to it. I continued on without digging and found a musketball and lots of rifle and shotgun shells. I am content with what I did and wondered what your thoughts were. Have a good one.

I am not sure all the items were in the mug, I just assumed it. The coffee mug was separate but in the same hole and there was also this spoon.

off rt. 146 in CP. There is a cellar hole on the right, right off the road on the way to Glenville next to a field. The town of CP owns it. You may have hit it with Carl. I was trying to find the one farther up in the woods.Have a good one buddy and good to hear from you.

I showed my wife the posts and the story I wrote, she said. It was probably some angry boyfriend or room mate getting even and burying their stuff :)
I'll stick with my thoughts on a capsule/tokens of remebrance ;)
