Pictures of My New Tesoro Eldorado

It's a piece of art and is in near mint like condition. :)

I was searching the classifieds for a Tesoro Deleon (I'm still looking), but I found this instead. I couldn't pass this one up.

Very nice indeed! Congrats!

Very nice looking machine.. I bet you can't wait to get out and start swinging it.
Looking forward to seeing your finds with it.
I have never owned this model detector, but I have always liked the features on it.. especially the battery check function.
I wish my Vaquero which I love had a battery check similar to the way this one works instead of turning the machine off and then back on again.
Good luck with your "new" detector,
Felix

tabman,

The Eldo looks new, what a score on that one ! They are getting hard to find in that condition and I'm sure it works as good as it looks. How do you like the VCO all-metal? different ain't it.

When they are that nice, makes it hard to take out and use it. Congrats .
Enjoy this Eldorado.

I didn't know it looked this good when I purchased it. It does work as well as it looks. I used it in the Tesoro audio tone video.

I really like how the VCO reponds. I detected some in VCO with another Eldorado that I owned previously. Shallow targets will wake you up and make jump to attention.

Hey Tabman, The Eldorado I just recently got was described as "Pristine", and it is in every way as nice as your Eldo.I read of another Eldo awhile back, NIB, that was accquired, so we can say to those getting the Fever for an Eldorado,

I have my Eldorado ready for a trip to the field to see how well it performs. :)

Eldorado pampers? Maybe huggies......

I'm thinking about getting some of that non stick camo-tape they wrap guns with to cover it with.

I wish they made a glove fit neoprene cover for the uMax detectors.

It may look like a closet queen, but that dog can hunt.:)

Hi Tabman, Lol, now your Camo idea brings back some memories!! I would not reccomend the Camo route in any form.,Serriously, because I actually did that many years ago with some "sticky" camo tape. No joke, ,,and I happened to prop that camo machine up in some bushes once while I took time out for a "whizz" and after I was done I actually spent more than a couple of minutes looking for it. Another time, a couple of years ago after swinging my(spare) a Sidewinder, "no camo" for awhile,,, I proped it against a tree, unslung my Tejon and started swinging it again. Thinking I would walk circles around the tree where I had propped the Sidewinder, I hunted/circled(?) and scratched for a pretty good while. Came time to reshoulder the Sidewinder, and head out, I could not spot the Sidewinder anywhere! Oh yeah, the"DA"feeling hit me right between my eyes, with all manner of anxiety pains setting in also.I looked and looked and after maybe 20 minutes I saw a glint of sunlight reflect off the Sidewinder stem, and of course all was well again.About the only thing I could think of to ease my "DA" feelings was to ask myself what the outcome would have been had the Sidewinder have been "Camo'ed" or even it had been a cloudy day. HH, Charlie

Oh, I was only thinking about putting the non-sticky camo tape on the control box to protect it from getting scratched.

I'm a firm believer of bright recovery tape.

Tabman: I found an Eldorado almost as nice as yours. The guy wants $270 shipped for his. Is that a good price for one?

If it's in great shape, it's worth every penny. Just be careful with who you deal with.

Tabman: Is the coil plug on the Eldorado a 4-pin plug like the one on the Vaquero? I ask because I'm wondering whether the coils on the Vaquero and the Eldorado are interchangeable.

I'm also wondering if I can attach the Eldorado box to the Vaquero rod. I ask because I have the option of buying the Eldorado I'm interested in with or without a rod. If I choose to buy it with a rod, it will be an aftermarket Tesoro straight rod from Indian Nations Metal Detectors, not the OEM rod that came new with the detector.

Mike

Berryman, The Vaquero has a 4 pin plug and the Eldorado has a 5 pin plug. The rod is the same and both control boxes will work.
