Piece of Jewlery I found

Just wanted to show a piece of jewlery i found several weeks ago with my XTerra 705 on the beach here in Florida.

Not a real expensive piece, and not gold. rang in at about 19 at about 8 inches.

Several of the "jewels" are fake, to be specific, the top wing jewels. But the smaller bottom jewels and the large top jewel are the real things from the looks of it. This was an older piece I believe, it had an old time laquered finish on the design over a base metal, and settings that has been partially worn off by movement in the sand. Plus it had been attached to a chain but that part has been broken. No idea what the real stones are worth, but they are sure pretty even though they have been in the sand a long time.

Was a nice looking necklace at one time. Not sure of the age of someone who would wear this but I am guessing a teeny bopper.

The same day I did find a bunch of clads and some other odds and ends of stuff. And LOTS of trash.

Only problem...still waiting on minelab to return my excaliber. 2 months almost now. I miss it. I need it. <sigh> I wish they could get faster there at their service dept.

Do you use the Vibraprobe in the surf with the Excal ?
They are waterproof aren't they ?
A friend just ordered one and I am wondering how like yours ?

Just starting with my Excal. when I injured my leg and now Winter is here Downunder so have a lot to learn next Spring/Summer.
Minelab service down here is great , I live 20mins from their factory and the last repair on my Xterra took 1 day.
I hope they hurry up for you.

Yea, I have heard that the service dept down under is really good. Wish I could say that about the one here stateside. They do good work, I am sure, but just slow, very slow.
It might not be their fault. Could be they dont have enough techs. Always possible. But if that is the case, you would think they would hire some more so they could get a reasonable repair time on stuff.

No, I dont use the vibraprobe out in the surf. Too much of a chance of losing it and besides, getting knocked around, shoved and such..too hard just staying on my feet digging with the scoop. I need both hands for it. I will use the probe in shallower water or if I am diving or snorkling with a detector. I dont use the excal for that. The coil is too big. I do have that surf PI pro for that. But have been thinking on putting on a bulkhead on the excaliber to be able to switch out coils so I can put an 8 inch coil on for diving or snorkling. The waters on the intercoastal where I live are good for snorkling. Water is fairly shallow without the high surf and I can just float around scanning with the detector. Nice and relaxing, let me tell you. Beats walking around. 2 to 4 foot water is perfect for doing that. Thats when the vibraprobe comes in handy. Once I find something with the big one, I just drop it and use the probe from that point. The vibraprobe is really sensitive so once right over whatever the big one found it will detect it as well. Just doesnt have the scanning diameter of the big one. Anyway, have found some coins and other stuff since I tried snorkling.

Thought it was warm year round down there? I forgot, there are areas there that have 4 seasons just like we do here in the states. Well, when I was down in Panama, it was either wet and hot (winter) or dry and hot (summer). I dont remember much other seasonal weather down there except a brief time when it was cooler between summer and winter or I should say, the monsoon season. I will say this, the nights were usually pretty nice. Would cool down pretty good and then have a nice breeze off the ocean. Just like here in Florida.

Good luck to you down under there. You folks have a chance for some nice gold there. Seen alot of nice nuggets come out of the gold fields down there.
