Pin pointer on detector = non motion detector= P.I. ??:twodetecting:

Hello! I was just wondering about the Pin pointer on my Ace 250 and now my At Gold. Since these machines are VLF detectors and the coil have to be moving in order for the detector to do its function. When you activate the Pin pointer, from what I understand, the machine then becomes a non motion detector. Now, does it means when the pin pointer button is depress, does our VLF machine becomes a pulse induction sort of machine ??? Just thinking out loud...

No it is still VLF, you have just put in an all metal mode, without having to move the coil.

[size=large]the differance would be how the signal is sent. VLF is like rapid fire and PI is it sends the signal and waits for a return signal.like sonar much slower. in pp mode on the VLF you just , as stated already, put it in all metal and the signal is being interupted by the new eddy field around the target and the machine is reading that.

Except for the PI part you have it correct. When you press the pinpoint button the machine becomes a non notion detector as long as you hold it down.
