Pin Pointer Question

I am familiar with the Garrett Pinpointers. I have had two of the black Garrett pinpointers and they have worked well. They are both over 10 years old now and at times work on and off intermittently. This question is for those that have used both the Garrett pinpointers and the Minelab Pro. I ' m probably looking at replacing one and I was wondering what thoughts you would have as preference to one over the other concerning quality build, depth, and overall operation. Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks In Advance, Kevin

I have only used the Garrett. I asked Garrett a while back what they would charge to repair an old one. I was told $27.50 plus cost of parts. Not a bad price to put new life in an old friend.

I was looking at different pinpointers a few years ago , and started to get one of those Notka underwater pointers. It may have been another brand ,, cant really remember. But it only vibrated. I've got 2 pro pointers , and I put fresh batteries in both of them this year ,, and one of them is detecting at about 6 inches. Hell , with that I can scoot around on my butt and detect ,, no more up and down detecting ,,, Sorry , I don't really have any real advice for ya ,, just didnt want ya to think nobody's listening to you in here ,,,
