Pinpointing a double D coil...

Seems like the average guy used to a concentric has problems....My advice get a piece of cardboard start with a large coin and work down to a dime...simple move the cardboard around and raise the coil to simulate depth and use a screwdriver to test your accuracy punching it thru the cardboard and do it in your backyard and not in the field and with practice should become quite proficient. Being used to an Explorer heck I do it in disc. mode heel to toe and only use the pinpoint mode for deepies and now with the fill the blocks method in pinpoint it gives you another method. I know with my original XS I made a mess out of a old campground first time around but heck it was abandoned and overgrown and didn't matter and got 2 silver coins in the process.
In most case neatness counts so practice and all will fall into place and you will pinpoint spot on using one of the many methods and once you find one that works for you stick with it and you will be able to pinpoint as well as your buddy with the concentric. Remember neatness counts and many areas are being closed to the hobby because of shoddy retrieval so do practice for effective neat retrieval.
