Pinpointing and coils

When pinpointing I am not finding the objects in the center of the coil. What is the usual method of locating the object? Also for trashy areas does the Sniper Coil work well?

Do a Search on here, there's a lot that has been said about pinpointing. Some use the nose, (drag back till the sound cuts off) some the center. I'm a center guy myself. Gotta learn to do the The Twitch to get 'em in the center
 
It takes a little practice but the AT-Pro will get you a pretty precise pinpoint on all the coils I've used. For trashy areas I like the 5x8 DD coil the best. The Sniper though is the totlot and chainlink fence killer!
 
Concentric coils are more accurate for pinpointing off the toe or heel. DD's pinpoint better off the center. Smaller coils like the sniper and 5 x 8 work better in trashy areas.Watch these videos:
