Pinpointing Question

Coinseeker 78

Frequently with my SE I will get a coin signal and when I pinpoint it sounds off on the right and left of the target and not over the target. What does this mean?

might mean you never properly centered the target and the target was on the BACK of the coil. Try wiggleing the coil backward until the target is on the front of the coil. Trash does have a tendancy move more than coins will. Also, in Cond, iron sounds like good targets and the exploriers have a tendancy to lock on to iron when in pin point especially if its closer to the surface than the good target.

Another thing that affects the pinpoint is the sensitivity. If you have it hot you contact targets farther from the coil. Thats another reason we rotate around the target when checking it.

I think it could be a coin or object on edge. I have had that double signal before many times using different detectors, and the target ends up between the two signals, in the middle.
