Pinpointing with the T2

I just received my new T2 this evening. This is the first machine I've ever owned with a DD coil. Can someone give me some pointers on pinpointing with a DD coil? Where is the target?

Thanks,

Dan

I painted this mfg mark white to make it better to see. Good luck with the T2 it's a powerful machine.

Thanks for the responses. I see that mark. It looks like an ejector pin indent from the mold. Painting it seems like a good idea.

Thanks again,

Dan

Pinpointing is not easy to learn on the T2 but practise a lot and swing from east to west then from north to south, till you narrowed the area down do a few inches. Then Pull the Pinpoint trigger and it will show you exactly where the target is. You do not need to swing the T2 in order to get a signal in Pinpoint mode. Good luck hope it helps.

I was under the impression that a DD coil pinpointed differently than a concentric coil. But with the advice I received here, and a few minutes trying it, I find that the T2 pinpoints as easily as any Tesoro I ever had. And I like the double trigger effect to narrow the pinpoint. This reminds me of my Garrett Freedom 2 I had many years ago. I just got home from a cold morning hunt with the T2, and I tried a lot of different settings. I had a bit of "chirping" because I was right under a power line, but dropping the sensitivity a bit solved that. I did discover that you (or maybe just me) can have too many tones. I found 3 tones pretty good, although I do like 4 tones on my F5. I do have a question, but I'll start a new thread for that.
