Pioneer 202 ??

I picked up this BH 202 at a rummage sale this weekend for $35. Couldn't believe it was so cheap. It is missing the arm cup but hey I can deal with that. I bought it for my 11 y/o because he is a small fellow and this thing is very light. Got her home, cleaned it up, and brought it out to the test garden that has been planted for about 4 years now. I was impressed with the depth (although had the sens turned all the way up) but still very good lowering the sens. I have downloaded the manual. Seems simple enough. Now to my question. In disc mode (@ 10 o'clock) swinging over a Q about 5-6" deep all I can get is the lower of the 3 tones with the ID lingering from pull tab to zinc penny. Now as I raise the coil stil swinging getting the low tone I can get one or two highs right before I lose the signal. This happens with all of the coins I have buried. Coil cable is in good shape as well as the plug into the box. Although the detector seems to have been taken care of I can't rule out someone maybe dropping it or whatever else. You think maybe needs to be recalibrated? If that is the case I hear First TX has excellent customer service as I've been reading in other posts. What would something like this cost?

Thanks for any input

Nice find, wish I could come across something like that. Not sure of the cost but here is some info I got off of the BH web page................"If You Need to Send a Unit in for Repairs
You MUST CALL FIRST to Get a Return Authorization Number (RA Number)"

Phone: 1-800-413-4131 Or E-mail: info@frsttx.com

They may be able to give you a "ballpark" estimate over the phone, or may even have a simple solution to your issue. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I ended up calling Arturo at Bounty Hunter/First Texas and was told $60 would be the absolute most it would cost but usually runs about $20-$30 plus they ship it back on their dime. Tracking # says it delivered Tuesday the 10th. He said it usually takes 24-48 hrs but haven't heard back from them yet. Think i will give him a call later on to see what's going on.
