Pistol Probe and the quattro.

Hi Guys,

Has anybody got any experience with the pistol probe and the quattro. I know it does affect the e-track with the frequency.

Regards Below2Doe.

I have a Pistol Probe and a Safari and my experience was that you cannot use the PP with a multi-frequency machine. My Pistol Probe is boxed up and put with my other detectors. I got a Sun-Ray X-1 on the Safari and my problems are solved. They say the Garrett pin pointer will work with any machine but I don't know. The Pistol Probe is a great pin-pointer but not with your Minelab. JMHO HH :minelab:

I have a PP and use it all the time. I hit menu to silence the safari and sometimes point the coil away from the hole. Never tried the Garrett, but have heard great things about it.
Just my thoughts,
HH

Good you should raise this. I've been looking for a new pointer. I've seen a review video showing that the PP has much better depth than Garret (second best) or the Sun Ray (which was descriebd as only mediocre) but my understanding was that PP actually can damage the multi-frequency spectrum not just interfere with it. Anyone know anything definite?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for those replies. I did have a quattro and sold it and then bought the exterra 70 and now have the whites v3. My mate who still has the quattro is the one looking to get a pinpointer.
