Hello Comrades,
Amazing day today with a rare find from the Southern California valley, Recently have been searching this site for about 10 hours total the past three weeks with only two coins coming out of this location "1902 Indian penny and 1917 wheat penny." Plenty of pistol balls and several musket balls have surfaced with some odds and ends ranging from mid 1840's to 1910's, So far the oldest find was an 1830's navy button, Today's find matched the Navy button from the same era.
Laying in the same hole was a big long chuck of barb wire in fact was so big had to break off a piece and leave the rest of the barb wire in the ground. Funny but the 1/2 dime signal came in load and clear with no interference from the barb wire?
1835 1/2 bust dime 'Nicked her,"
Several pistol balls,
Musket ball,
Henry shell,
Large pieces of lead,
Pieces of broken china,
Old fruit jar lid,
Odds and ends,
Thanks for looking, Paul (Ca)

Hi Mark,
I have another site not too far from your area, This location used to have an adobe and then a hotel/saloon operation in the early 1870's. Not as old as this site posted but still it's not that far maybe an 80 mile drive from Northridge, It's virgin too.
Should be seated and other coins of that nature of that era so you're welcome to join in as well as Randy and Bing when the crops have been harvested, I pulled five seated coins down the hill about 6 miles from this location so I know this site will be a good one.
HH, Paul (Ca)
