You might want to try to tape the coil cover so dew or dirt cant get in and if that words use silcone to seal it.

Do you mean i should first try taping the rim of the coil cover to initially see if this cures the problem , then if it does cure this problem i should remove the tape a silicone seal the coil cover rim.

I would try to find out if you have a bad coil or not before you buy a new one.Their has to be reasone for your problem.Try to run in semi-auto when this happens and see if that works. If that dont work call Minelab.

My Platypus works great. I can run it hotter than the stock. It gives a nice signal also. More stable and better balanced. I sold my stock coil for the EX11. I have had good luck with mine in mud, water, and snow.

Good luck

Maybe it's just me who is cursed with this problem i am not sure. In wet grass all i get is false low tones and a cross hair that hits on the bottom line. Checking carefully over this area again where the false low tone came from reveals no target. The best way i can describe this phenomina is that the coil becomes hyper sensitive to water droplets . I have a feeling this is the "nature of the beast" and may be not due to faulty coils but just the way the coil is designed. It will not work in the wet .

It's amazing how they worked that feature into a $1,200.00 unit.

If I remember correctly Yesterday Mine was Falsing with Mid-High Tones..

I was getting p i s s e d and just Felt like Smashing it on the ground Many Times, and then what was left Tossing it into the Pond...:rage::rant:

Doctorcoinz, I would be willing to swap my like new explorer II stock coil for your SE stock coil. If interested , email me.
