I just ordered a Platypus coil for the Explorer II.I read the field test by Andy Sabisch. This seems to be an
impressive addition to the Explorer II.I hope I didn't make an expensive mistake.Any comments,[pro's or cons] by anyone in this forum is certainly appreciated.I know some of you guys own one, please let me hear some comments.Thanks.

Hello Hidout,
The coil is no expensive mistake, We all have our own reason the coil fills our hunting needs. For me, the coil provides extra coverage which is needed to cover large areas of particular sites while still maintaining the same depth without the added weight. Extra coverage is my top reason and others have their own, The elipcal designed coil is another pro factor for the coil.
Depending on the users needs not all coils will suit everyone's needs, This one happens to fill a void which is why I'll continue to use the Platypus coil.

I have used the Platypus a couple of times and found it to be a good coil it seems to pinpoint better and depth is good more coverage is a plus going to be great for hunting around bush I found a real nice gold ring first time out with it I like this coil and will use it over the stock HH RonC
