...I usually do prelude before service...Everybody LOVES it when I play some kind of instrumental to get warmed up(Battle Hymn of the Republic; The Old Rugged Cross;Rock of Ages; How Great Thou Art;or sometimes a medley of all them thrown in together);THEN:I'll REALLY get down to business-Im doing Casting Crowns song "Does Anybody Hear Her?"after that...FINALLY-after having the flu;gonna do it this Sunday...Its kind of funny:The woman that plays piano some Sundays told me once"YOU have got a REAL talent-You can play by ear-AND:You do it very well-whereas I could not play "Happy Birthday"on the piano if I didnt have the music in front of me!"....My Dr. that goes to my church has told me the same thing-Cant play without music in front of him....Its hard to explain-I can hear in my mind how I want it to sound;and play it...When it comes to writing my own music,though-FORGET IT!!...tried it;no can do...I just listen to a song like Can Anybody Hear Her;recognize the notes and chords they are played in;get the lyrics;and transfer it to my flat-top and let'er fly...It really doesnt seem like much of a talent to me;cause it just comes naturally to me;and is easy for me...But-let me tell ya-My almost 20 year old flat top 6 string has such a GREAT sound,I cant go wrong...I will have to play for you all some day,to show you how good my guitar really sounds:thumbup:!!!
