Pleasant little surprise.

Had time today to get out for just a couple hours, weather here turned cool and it rained .30 yesterday. Decided to run out to the big county park where I’ve recovered silver coins before but this time thought I’d put the Sharpshooter on snd hit the creek bank. Back in the day the small lake was on one side of the road and a picnic/dancehall/clubhouse on the other. There were wooden steps going down an embankment to the lower level of the picnic area but people used to jump from one side of the bank to the other if the steps were crowded.

Found three quarters (all mid 60s), three dimes (all mid 60s) and 5 pennies (all mid 60s). I’m sensing a fad here....... One of the higher range dime signals I went after was about 5” down so was hoping maybe another Merc or Rosie. Easy digging where its moist and when I pulled the plug and checked, nothing. Checked the plug, nothing???????Pinpointer is on a coil cord and noticed it was vibrating when I reached and touched it, check on the ground and a silver ring with a big ol red stone is under it. I’m always telling it to stay so not sure where it learned seek...
It cleaned up rather easy and now I can read “Sarah Cov” (for Covington) on one side and sterling on the other!!! Stone has very minor scratches so guessing its synthetic. Score!!!

Beautiful ring Mr. Ron!!! Sounds like you just scratched the surface to this area. You must be thankful your pin pointer doesn’t listen to you.🤭 Get back to that creek bank !!
