Hi everyone, I have been a park hunter for quite sometime. I have been using Andy's coin program with a plus 3 sensitivity and multi tones. I keep fast off, deep on, difficult soil, and high trash. This works great for most of the parks. I recently have been doing ALOT of door knocking and gaining permission to hunt more private properties. This program and combo is not working so hot for the old farms. I am going crazy because I am afraid to notch things out to quiet the machine. My numbers and tones have been all over the place. The numbers seem to have become very unstable. I have used my noise cancel and that has not been helping either. I am wondering what program and setting you all use for old farms and one room school house settings? Please toss your suggestions my way. I have been starting to loose my confidence. Thanks for any help or suggestion that you can give.

Thanks,

Hey X,

I don't know if anything I'll say will help you so don't get your hopes up. Other than the ground diff. (my sens. in Auto +3 is usually 23 or more) I run exactly what you do. I haven't noticed any difference here for the most part. I'm wondering if something else isn't wrong. When you go back to the parks do things stabilize (get back to the way you remember)? Is this more than one farm house (sounds like in your post it is...just making sure)? I started out hunting old farms and using Andy's Program you will get a lot more falsing off of iron, at least that's my experience. You might try stock program for a while. For me I've hunted with Andy's program long enough I don't like it when I can't hear the falsing chirps. I sometimes switch to stock program though, but I have to slow down more.

Other than that, you might try Gaz's ferrous setup and see what that does for you. At least it doesn't take long to make some adjustments and all can be made in one hunt. Hope nothings wrong with the machine and you get things figured out. WHEN you do, make sure and let us know what/how you did it and the results!!!

Afterall, you did the NC, and the GB and Sens is taken care of by the Etrac. If the farmsites and country school house sites you're hunting are like those I hunt, I would have to wonder if the bouncing numbers and irratic tones aren't a sign of a congested site? The solution I use is to put on one of my smaller coils and slowing down my sweeps. These two steps have allowed me to have better separation of targets, thus minimizing irratic tones and bouncing numbers. The smaller coils may not have the depth of the larger coils. But I'm convinced there are more old coins still out there hiding due to being masked by adjacent targets than by extreme depth. JMHO HH Randy
