My friend Troy found these the past month and would like any info on the items that you may have. I don't have a civil war token book. Any idea on the car good luck charm? Is the button civil war era. The only words I can make out on the back is "extra".
Thanks, Jim

Instead of writing offensive remarks why not try posting on the Whatsit Forum for Identification of Items ??????? You just may get an answer but not the way you posted your last msg.

I read that and it rubbed me too, but was'nt sure what context he meant it in so let it slide off. LOL

Not as many people get upset at it.

I am sure the people you live with and those that know you respond better to your demands for information and attention. I for one will try to do better in the future.

Have a nice day.

cachenut.

lol.

This is my first look at this post and after reading all posts in response.I take his comment as he has posted.I guess he has burned his bridges!

Did your post get edited???What was offensive????Are they talking about you???You big troublemaker you.haha.Hope all is well, even though your on the darkside now.Dave

I just asked for some info on the items posted and when I only recieved one reply I posted the "you guys suck eggs" thing. People took offense I guess. Whatever. Jim

The L.A. Des Ermia token is listed in the Michigan Trade Token book (1987) by Cunningham as being from Tecumseh, Michigan. Cunningham notes "Food stores in Tecumseh and Britton, later a furniture store up to the middle 1970s; a substantial number of these tokens are known to be in the family's possession." Cunningham gives a value of $6.00 for this token. It isn't a Civil War token and the swastika is actually a good luck symbol used on some US tokens prior to WWII.

The W. Jaxon token is a Civil War token from Jackson, Michigan and is listed in Fuld's "U.S. Civil War Store Cards" in copper with a rarity of R-3 (between 500 -2,000 in existence) and R-9 in brass (between 2-4 in existence).

Hope this is helpful.

It helps to learn a little "online etiquet" when posting on forums. It is very difficult to discern your implied attitude when just reading a few words. A quick "lol" after a sarcastic comment allows people to realize it is meant with "tongue in cheek" mentality, and not in an offensive way.
Just trying to help,....you OLD BUZZARD. LOL (see) LOL

I don't know about any of the posted finds, but it looks like you have a pretty good hunting spot to me. Way to go guys.

I was wrong. I have a token book but It only lists a W.JAXON/(ornament)/GROCER,/JACKSON HALL/JACKSON,/MICH./***1863*** token. The prices given are VG-$5.00,VF-$10.00,EF-$12.00, and UNC-$40.00.
