please help me choose

I'll have had a 250 for four years in Feb, Mar, ?? or so.. When this forum starts
to say my time here is 4 years, that will be about when I got it.
I'm still quite satisfied with it. I have both of the add on coils, so it's pretty
versatile. Course, I may not be quite as hard core as some here.. I'm more
of a general relic hunter rather than coin shooter. But to give you an example
of how well the machine worked out of the box, I found over 500 coins just in
my yard alone in the first month or so I had the machine. I've since passed
that a good bit, and the front yard is still not cleaned out. The backyard is getting
a bit thin.. But from what I've seen, and others echo, I think it's the best appx $200
machine out there. Even if by chance you didn't like it, or decided to upgrade,
unloading a used one should be easy.
Can't go wrong really. BTW.. I do recommend paying the small extra and getting the
Ace 250 over the Ace 150. Not that the 150 can't hunt, I just think the pinpoint mode
on the 250 is money well spent. No pinpoint mode on the 150..
The 250 with the sniper coil is like a coin vacuum.. I may not be a hard core
coin shooter, but the machine is.
Myself, I like prowling old home sites, etc for old stuff.. I'm the type that could
get into digging out 120 year old outhouses..
Not that I will pass up a coin if it presents itself.. :wink

Are you asking if I'm able to 'buy' it in Canada? or 'use' it in Canada?

Yes. I found a dealer just 30 min. away. He had both the ACE 150 and 250 in stock. ( I got the 250)

I called today and asked if he could order the Garrett Pro-Pointer for me.
He said;" Order?.. I have four in the store right now."

I just got back from the store... and now have the pro-pointer.

You made a good choice. People are finding some really great "finds" with the Ace 250.
If you had bought the Ace 150 I believe you would have been unhappy with it, in my opinion.
Someone here said there were better options, and that may be, but not for the money. People call
the Ace 250 a beginners machine, but if you look/compare it with other machines I'd say it's
a medium machine. And the money!!!!! Very inexpensive. Even the Whites Coin Master for $179.00
can't beat the Ace 250 for what it does. The Ace has VCO pinpointing, the Coin Master does not
(I may be mistaken but I don't believe it does). The Coin Master is a scaled down Prism III and your very
limited to the number of coils at present.

The Ace will give you many hours of happy hunting.

I've only been in the hobby for two seasons, and used the ACE 250 during that time. These are some of the keeper coins/relics that I have found, among a ton of other stuff. The brass oval plate is off the saddle horn of a North West Mounted Police officer in this area (Inspector Cuthbert from Berthier Quebec) during the 1880's. I have a lot more of these pics, but you get the idea. The ACE brings home the bacon.

Get your 250 (or whatever) now and if you live in an older house, search the walls, ceiling, and floors for experience when the weather won't let you out.
In 1984, I bought a White's 6000Di Coinmaster, and since it was winter, searched the old farmhouse we lived in then. In one of the upper bedrooms about 10 ft. from the attic door in the ceiling, I got a "beep". Turned out there was a WWII Italian army rifle in 6.5 Carcano calibre under the ceiling's blow in insulation. Whoever lived there earlier used the area for their "hidey hole place". If I had never used the tector, everything that was there then would still be there. There are ALWAYS places to hunt even if the weather is bad.

The ace is a top finding machine and has a good supply of after market coils to use especially like the sniper coil it is one of the better 4 inch coil on depth and finds out of all the small coils i have used.The ace is a good starter machine and will give a lot of 500 dollar machine a run for the money.It works well in Ohio and if you find after you use it a while you want to move on to another machine well they don't last long on the for sale line before it is grabbed they seem to retain there value.It is a easy machine to learn but has a lot of higher end features digital notch on each item and a few different modes that you can set up so when you are in trashy areas you can notch out what you want you can hunt relics or coins easy the ace 250 has good depth with the 4 inch sniper coil power crank up you can get from surface to 567 inches depending on object the stock is a good coil to the 9x12 will get 10 inches sometimes a little deeper there is a ex coil sold by kellyco i have 10x14 dd works great.You really don't grow out of the ace 250 it is a fun machine to use yes i use four or five different machines but comes down to it the ace 250 is usually always in my car for back up for fun or if i want to show someone how to metal detect or just to use it is lighter than my other machines and easy to swing..My brother in law has two different machine or three one is ace 250 and he could hunt up a storm of coins next to my other machines,,sometimes when we were hunting i would think i was back in the army and he was doing squat every time i look over he be down digging a coin make me run faster trying to find more than him.Well it is a great machine for the price and don't know to many if any machine for that price can match it.But i guess it comes down to what state you live in do to ground conditions.I would give it a serious look or try one out and if you get one with all the coins you find put it away in savings for another machine if you want.Just my opinion.Hope this helps
