Josh had some problems about 4 months ago with a molar, and it evidently became Infected. He had it pulled at a local dentist on the 18th, and they pulled the one next to it also as it was absessed also.
He was put on antibiotics and came home. Pam took him to the emergency room on the 20th when he could no longer swallow. Couple shots and back home again. The night of the 21st he was having trouble swallowing again so Pam took him back to the emergency room.
They admitted him to the hospital that night, and the next day his nurse had him moved to Critical Care because she didn't like his readings.
At 3:00am on the 23rd He was talking to his mother, she said he was talking and feeling better, when he suddenly started gasping for air, passed out and started into cardiac arrest.
Since he was in the Critical Care unit already they got to him fast. If he had been at home he would have died. His throat had swelled shut from a fast growing infection called Ludwig's Angina. He was in a medically induced coma and on mechanical life support from the 23rd to the 28th.
DO NOT play games with your teeth!
They started to wean him from his Morphine drip and Propanol last night, and today he opened his eyes, looked at us and actually recognized us, then they put him back under because he started panicking.
Tomorrow they will start the long process of getting him back to breathing for himself, and I find myself unable to spend the time in the room with him I should, because he is in so much pain I can't stand to see his face when he becomes concious . I hate it when I start crying in front of strangers.
At one time he had three specialists assigned to him full time saving his life. It looks as if they were successful, with the lord's help, and I wanted to send this out so when you heard the rumor version you knew the truth.
He can use all the prayers he can get, and if you try to contact me and my phone is off it is because I am in his room again.
Please pray for him.
