Please Pray....

Yesterday Travis took our daughter for her four year shots and routine bloodwork showed SEVERE anemia. She has struggled with this on and off since she was born, but she's always responded pretty well to treatment. Her levels are panicky low now and we have to take her to the hospital for testing. There's concern that she is bleeding out somewhere. She will probably face a transfusion or two and who knows what else. It's just so stinking horrible to have a sick kiddo....and she has had her share of sickness in her four years. Please pray that we get to the bottom of this soon and there's not a more serious underlying condition. We had to take away all milk products and she lives for milk. She has done pretty well with that, thank goodness.

Yes...It's horrible to have a little one who suffers so with sickness of one sort or another. When I was a boy about nine years old, my 'baby' sister was epileptic, as was one of my younger brothers and I had to walk around with an old clothes pin in my pocket all the time, in the event one of them had an attack. I lived with this for several years prior to all of us being put up for adoption. Our father was no where to be found and mother was too sick to take care of us, so we were put in foster homes for 'safe keeping'. Little by little, I watched as one, then another and another was adopted out. It was hard watching my brothers and sisters being taken away. My prayer for you, Travis and your little one is that she will endure and God will provide a cure for her difficulty. Keep us posted of her condition.

Praying for your daughter. And for you guys!

Martin, your post brings tears to my eyes. I can't imagine how heartbreaking that was for you seeing your family fall apart one by one. Our daughter is adopted as well and while we have always told her about her adoption and been upfront, she still breaks our heart sometimes with questions. She has two siblings that we know of and don't have a clue where they are. She desires to know them and we have our hands tied :( We can't provide her with a brother or sister and it's hard for her to understand.

Thanks guys! The prayers mean so much....as that is all we can do right now. Loren is actually being really good where her diet is concerned....been totally accepting of the change so far and understands what is going to happen if we can't get this level up on our own....SHOTS! Yuck! Tonight we have liver for supper.....stay tuned. I'm thinkin' that may not go so well. :surrender:
