Poppy's Battle - Infection Control

Infection control
Posted 2 hours ago

We had a great night's sleep and are feeling better. When the nurse came in she said Howard's white cell count is low so we are limited on visitors for a couple of days. Anyone with any sign of a cold or cough, or exposure to a cold or cough, should not come to see him. Even those who are well need to wear a mask and wash their hands when they enter the room. Hopefully this will be for only a couple of days. But we would love phone calls.

Through care pages we have heard from many old contacts. Thanks for leaving a message.

Praying for a quick recovery from low blood count and that no infections appear....in Jesus' precious name I pray! Amen! May God Bless and do a mighty healing work in Poppy and also Brian! Amen! Ma Betty

...dad is doing good so far. Today or tomorrow they will cut his hair and shave his head to keep it from falling out on his bed. He is handling the chemo really good and has been able to maintain his appetite and is good spirits. He said he has been eating foods he normally wouldn't try. I didn't get to visit yesterday because I was feeling under the weather a little and he is on very limited visitation because of the low white count. I may try to visit tomorrow as I am feeling fine today.

Meanwhile, back out our own little hospice we have added another patient for the weekend. Sarah had four impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed this morning and will stay with us until she is feeling better.

Brian is about the same, dealing with the ever present pain. He is not any worse so that is a blessing.

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers! I have been reading and keeping up with the prayer requests.

Doug

Thanks Pete and Doug for the updates on Poppy, Brian and family! Sorry to hear about Sarah's problem with her wisdom teeth! My Tami had all four wisdom teeth pulled at once and she got infection and her jaws were terribly swollen and she was very ill! She had to go on anti-biotics before the swelling left and was feeling better! Prayers go out for each of you for healings, comfort, peace and rest! God's Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Jesus is our Healer so keep believing in and trusting in them for everything! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Ma!! Sarah had four pulled also plus another impacted baby tooth. She is pretty sore tonight!! Sorry to hear about Tami's ordeal...hope Sarah's don't get infected.

Thanks for your prayers too!!

Doug

Hi Doug, Tami's wisdom teeth were pulled when she got her braces and was still a teenager at home! My ex had dental ins that paid for some of her orthodonic work, but she really did get sick and I was down at mom and dad's house in Salem, MO at the time, after their death, and had things to care for and see to! I really felt badly that I wasn't home with her when she really needed me, but her dad took care of her and called the dentist to get the meds for her!

I pray for better health and better times for each of you! I sent you an email showing my new email address! The old one will be cancelled on March 14th....I have AT&T now for everything....faster for the Interent and loading videos! May God Bless! Ma Betty
