Today's treatments!
Posted 20 hours ago
This morning the fun begins, if you can call it that. Poppy is going to have a busy day. He is getting Platelets as I write this. He will also be getting two units of blood and chemo. He will get chemo every twelve hours for three days. They have stuck him so much he may start spouting fluids soon.
This is something Poppy has not had an experience with. He has never been in the hospital. It is a little overwhelming all that they are doing to him. This is going to go on for some time, over several months, so he will eventually to get used to all the attention.
We are especially thankful for all of your prayers.

...and he looks great and is feeling good! This afternoon I called to see how he was doing and he said he was the drip at the end of the line!!
He also mentioned that being tethered to tubes and machines he felt like the little girl who was given a new bike but couldn't ride it out of the box taped on the floor.
He was the one doing the cheering up tonight!
Neither dad or mom got a lot of sleep last night because when the airbed pump turned on it sounded like the buzzer of a clothes dryer going off. They got that taken care of today so hopefully they will get some sleep tonight.
The first chemo treatment wasn't too bad. They gave him 12 units of platelets and 2 units of blood today too. (Mom, please correct me if I'm wrong). All of his vital signs were good and his nurse commented on how great he was doing. He was definitely ahead of the curve.
He had visits from old friends and new friends tonight and really enjoyed the company.
If I remember correctly these chemo treatments take about two hours (again, correct me if I'm wrong)so he should be about through with the second infusion.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers!!
