Possible civil war Button/or older?

CBJ

New member
Tried out a new area today in central ohio, didn't have much time but got a bunch of clad and managed this cool button. Looks very similar to some of the civil war buttons I've seen but unfortunately its missing the back part and its about the size of a quarter. Let me know what you guys think

You could try dropping Ed Howell a note from the Civil War Button site in the links, but I really don't think it is a Civil war button. The eagle resembles the eagle on the Mexico National Seal if you want to look in that direction...........

It's similar, but some of the civil war buttons are just as similar if not more. Also, the eagle is carrying arrows in his talons, doesn't Mexican eagle normally carry a snake.

Post a picture of the back side.

The back side is rusted out. The are where the shank would be it just a hole, thats why i didnt post the back side of it.
