Hello all,
I am currently using a fisher F5 and it is a very versalite machine that is a beast at grabbing coins. Problem is I live in an area with lots of iron and highly mineralized soil and I cannot get an accurate tone ID past 5-6 inches. (this is with settings maxed as I can, stock coil, GBalanced, using headphones)
In the 0-6 range mostly what I find is clad and sometimes the rare older coin. Most of my old finds have come from "guessing" on a unclear tone and are deeper than 6 inches.
I have been looking hard at the Safari model and like what have read so far and watched on vids. My question for those of you who have a Safari and have bad soil conditions is this, can you get good ID deeper than 6 inches? If so, how much deeper?
If it is capable of being considerable deeper in highly mineralized soil then I will probably buy one. Its a big expense for me and I dont want to just jump into it. So ALL your comments or feedback will be much appreciated.
Thx ALL !!!
