I'll start it off...

My eyes are getting worse as the years go by, so I couldn't read the date when I found it (as I forgot the magnifying glass I usually take with me). But I did know it was a SLQ with, perhaps, a date. What a wonderful surprise to find it was a '23 S !!!

It was a nice find on a weird day of detecting... oh, and thanks to everyone that replied to the original post of this find (I couldn't reply due to work).

Anyway, thanks for looking - can't wait to see everyone's best finds!

Here is my Best Find of the year. I found this 1862 $1.00 Gold Piece at the First Blue & Gray Hunt in March. What a thrill to find this coin with a great bunch of Friends all around me. Thanks, & happing Hunting in 2010...Jesse.

This is my buddies best find that I am posting for him as he knows nothing about computers. A rare 1901s barber quarter worth about $5,600.:clapping:

Here is my best find for 2009. It was found in a small university town about
8 inches deep and totally made my day of detecting. It is an 1866-s Seated
Liberty Half dollar. Thanks for looking........... Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

I think this was probably my best find of 2009. It was also about the last thing I found while I could still get out and hunt (which has been a whole MONTH ago now...grrr). Good times.

I have to say that the purchase and use of that coil on my Explorer (and now ETrac) certainly enhanced my ability to find some very well-hidden targets in many heavy-trash-laden locations.

My Thanks to Minelab for this significant improvement in their coil technology! :bouncy:

My best find was a 1788 half reale. What a thrill. 3 inches deep in a cow pasture:clap:

Great find Neal.... only one question, why did you put that tiny hole in it? Id kill to find one... with or without a hole.

This is the nicest two cent I have ever found... got it out of an old residence (only a lot now) next to the owners house. Went back to finish up and the owner said he told his wife about me detecting and she frowned... so no more detecting there, one shot deal.

I could not decide so I put both up. This CW Token is listed as an R9 (2 to 4 known!). Found in a corn field (old residence).

Happy New Year and HH - BF
