Do foreign coins count. I got this beauty Henry VIII Full groat in England in October.

I only got out a few times, but my best find was BY FAR a 10K ring that I found still in the box. There's also a pic of all of my goodies from that day (Too bad the NY button was SMOOSHED)

The ring was the only gold I found in 2009...so I guess it's my best find for the year by default!

Well this is the best find as far as coins go I think 1904 S Barber Half. I did get a cool 1859 indian head but it was in bad shape. And wanted to say how much I like all the other finds people have posted. HH all and will catch you around the forum.
