Praising God....

Pete in MI

New member
This is the 2nd evening/night we had the power go out. Weird when lights are lit but they look like candles glowing instead of 60 watt light bulbs.

Power came back on around midnight...out for about 6 hours tonight. I have to thank God this is not winter but warm weather. I could use the generator to provide us with electricity but want to save it for real emergencies such as when it is 10 degrees out and we are shivering in the house from the cold.

We have another reason for thanking and giving praise to God. On the way home we smelled gas...automobile gas inside the van. It was very strong and very annoying. We got all the way home and got out of the van to see we left a trail behind the vehicle - apparently all the way from where we filled up. We probably lost a 1/3 of a tank of gas on the ground driving home.

In the driveway it was still leaking gas so had to park up hill to keep any more from coming out. We are thankful that the gas did not get close to the hot muffler that was only inches away. We also have to thank God for sending a neighbor to look at the problem...and he fixed it - for free. God takes care of His kids.

We thought we were going to stay home from church tomorrow...God worked it out so now we can make it after all.

Thank you Father, thank you Jesus and thank you God.

glad nothing bad happened!

Yes, Pete, God sure takes care of His kids and I know, for when I was down at my sister's house one time, we were going to go to town and I had just filled up my car before getting there! I had to back up with the 77 Mercury into some tall weeds and didn't see a snowplow blade in them! Well, needless to say I punctured a hole in my gas tank and Carolyn got out to see what I hit! I pulled out of the weeds with gas pouring out and was going up hill in her driveway to park! She got some buckets and caught most of the rest of the gas that was pouring out.......but you know that the gas could have caught on fire when I pulled back up and it could have exploded and burned her and me both! Yet, God was with us in our ignorance of what could have happened and protected us and I ended up staying the rest of the week with her until David, her husband, could get the hole fixed enough for me to get more gas and get back home!

There is more to this story about how God worked in my life then, as I was in bad shape because my ex-husband was going to leave me and had filed for a divorce and it gave me time to talk to Carolyn and come to my senses, as I was planning to move out when I got back and if I had, he would have used that against me by saying I moved out and left him and my daughter! Sooooo, with my sis letting me talk and talk I finally said: Why should I move out, it is my house too and he is the one who wants a divorce, so let him move and when I told him after arriving home, he was totally mad and angry but he moved out and not me! Now, I know God was in that whole thing about my car, the hole, and me staying longer than I had intended to do! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for you love us so much that what we think at the time is bad is actually good!

Romans 8:28.....All things work together for the good to them who love God and are the called according to His purpose! His purpose for me was to be obedient and serve Him like I should have in all the years that I had claimed to be a Christian! Through His Holy Spirit's inspirational guidance I have written over 3000 poems with them honoring and glorifying Him! Yes, God is gooooooood and He is good all the time!!

God Bless!
Betty
