Prayer for friend...

As most of you know, I'm a musician and have been in the music ministry at church for many years. While up there, I'd always see this older gent sittin' in the same spot week after week. He wore a western style tie and always had patriotic pins and things on his jacket. By the expression on his face, he certainly didn't appear to like the music at all. In fact, I would have bet he just hated it... that is until he spoke to me after a service one Sunday a couple of years ago. He just went on and on about how much he enjoyed the music, was so blessed by it and always looked forward to seeing me up there. Goes to show, you never know what's going on with people until you talk to them:) As he explains it, he's since "adopted" Vicky and I :)

Well, I saw Stuart last Sunday and I could see he was really upset. He had invited Vicky and I again to a Veteran's appreciation day / concert / fireworks (this would have been the 3rd year) and didn't have the tickets. He was apologizing because he didn't know if he could get them replaced... Why? Because his house burned down last week! He house is basically 80% gone and he and his wife lost everything; 65 years worth. That's a lot of memories. He was tryin' real hard not to totally break down in front of me. I felt so bad for him. Pastor offered to start up a relief fund for him but he said the money should be used for the new church (we have a ground breaking in 2 weeks). Right now they''re in a hotel and all they have is the clothes on their backs. I'm sure everyone at church will be helping him out. Insurance will cover everything too. He told me that he and his wife were lookin' to remodel anyway... just not like this :)

Thanks.

God will meet their needs (and it sounds like they know that and are filled with faith). May out of this terrible situation the best will come from it.

I have found that 'things' like hearts have to be broken (taken down) so they can be rebuilt even better than before on a firm foundation (in the case of hearts - the foundation of faith in Jesus). Maybe God wants to make good from the bad and provide them with an even better life than they were having.

Praying for them. God bless them and meet their needs. In Jesus name. Amen

So sad for them at their ages in life! My ex and I had a fire in our apartment in an old house and while at work the fire broke out from bad wiring we think. Our first child Susan was a little over a year old! But at our ages then it was easier to overcome and start anew some place else!

Many memories have gone up in flames to be only be remembered in their minds. They will now have new furniture and a newer home, so Praise God they have ins. and no one was harmed in the fire! They have their lives and that's what really matters, as material things can be replaced! May God lead and direct them to better serve Him in the capacity He would have them do and enrich their lives with His wonderful love! People helped us at the time of our fire and I am sure with the Lord's help many will help them to recover and bless them in many different ways!

My prayers are with them that God will give them strength to endure and the power to overcome this terrible trial and be drawn closer to Jesus than ever before!

God Bless!
Betty
