at an old vacant lot to try out my cz6a. Anyway just as I was to leave I heard a "thump" like something hitting something. I turned around and saw this young boy in the air and land hard on the pavement, rolled over twice and wind up face down, his body twisted in awkward fashion. He had just been hit by a big pickup while riding his bike. My initial thought was that he had been killed right in front of me. He must have been thrown about 30 feet in the air. I ran over to the boy while the man came out of his truck saying he did not see him. I just yelled at him "do you have a phone?", to which he replied yes. Call 911!!! I went to the boy who was unconscious and checked for a pulse. He had one. He had 3 nasty bumps/cuts on his head, a slash on his calf, and was bleeding from the mouth. He came to and I just told him to not move. I held his head to stabilize it in case of a neck injury and started to talk to him to try to calm him down. He was worried about his mp3 player!! I asked him his name and when he said his last name was Escobedo I replied, are you related to ***?? Turned out he was my friend's grandson. The ambulance and cops got there mighty fast , about 5 minutes. They got my statement and the ambulance took him. I pray he will be alright.
