Hi Everyone,
Please pray for little Braeden who is 4 years old. I copied and pasted his last 2 updates. He has hung on for so-o long, but he is worsening. I am sending many of you this because I know that you will pray.
March 30 - Update
For two years now we have been on this road, fighting this battle with our little man. It was two years on Sunday since Braeden first woke up with ataxia, he could hardly walk without falling. Sometimes it still seems so hard to believe all he has been through and all that's happened.
Yet along this journey, we have been so blessed--with an amazing care team, amazing friends and family, an awesome church. God has definitely led us all the way, and provided for us in an incredible way.
I have to say, though, it's getting harder to update Braeden's care page, now. It's more of the same, or worse, when we want so badly to see something better, like the "old" days. Last Tuesday night, we thought we might be heading back to the hospital. Braeden was having a lot of pain in his left side. Our nurse Sara came back and we upped his pain meds quite a bit and gave him lots of extra--pretty much just conked him out. He ended up sleeping on and off until lunch time Wednesday and then woke up and has been pretty comfortable since. We can now feel a mass on the left side where he was hurting, though. He is still wanting to eat, but not able to keep much down. He seems to enjoy what he does eat, though. He is sleeping more, which is hard to see, but at least he's comfortable much of the time. The past few nights have been pretty good too. Now if only Owen would cooperate....we might sleep. Ha ha..
A few prayer requests in closing: please pray for Bub's comfort, it's most important to us right now. Pray for our kids as they face this too, pray for their hearts. Pray for wisdom and strength for mom and dad.
Spring Break Monday Update
As I've said, it's getting more difficult to update. We really feel lately that time is growing short. Braeden is hanging in, and so are we, but things deffinitely aren't the same. He isn't able to keep food down much now. He still wants to eat, but it isn't working for him. He is sleeping a lot more. He has still been pretty comfortable, though, which is good. We see little glimpses of his normal self here and there, but they are fewer and far between. It's hard for us, even harder for visitors who don't understand he's not the same kid. Saturday we went to the movies, we saw Monsters vs. Aliens. Bub had been waiting for that movie to come out for ages. In the end, he stayed for about an hour bWe are so thankful for all of your prayers and support, we are all struggling with the enormity of all of this. Please continue to pray, we appreciate all of you!
