Matthew Melton, 15 year old son of Gary and Dianna Melton, was riding Broncs at the Sidney Rodeo Saturday when his foot hung in the stirrup and the horse fell on him. They are not sure if the horse then stepped on him or if the fall caused all the injury, but he was bleeding heavily from the nose, ears and mouth. He was med-flighted to Children's and has as of this afternoon been non-responsive. The family and friends are praying for a miracle. The best I could gather, the family has not been offered much hope short of a miracle. But we know a God who holds a plan. If we lift this child up and offer our thanks for this miracle praying all the while the outcome be in His perfect plan, and the family the strength to accept whatever that may be, then we have done the best we can do. So I charge each of you with the task of holding this child and family in your thoughts and prayers. It hurts each heart to think of a young life ending, especially those of us who have children. That is a parent's worst fear. However, we know the Peace Giver and it is our responsibility as believers to pray for God's peace in this situation. Please add this request to your prayer lists. I will keep you posted as I hear more.
God Bless! Betty
