My in-laws live in RVICS Village inSmithville TX. RVICS = Roving Volunteers in Christ' Service.
Here is an email we just got from them.

Please pray for the area here in Bastrop County. There is a very large fire burning between Smithville and Bastrop. We heard that highway 71 is closed between Bastrop & Smithville. They showed a map on the TV station and the fires have burnt Colo Vista and part of Tahitian Village. They are saying on the TV that over 17,000 acres and over 400 homes have been destroyed. They are asking for help to battle the fires. The fires are spread out over a north to south area about 16 miles long. The eastern edge of the fire is about 6 miles from the RVICS Village. We are okay here, we don't even smell the smoke, but we do see the smoke. Over 5,000 people have been evacuated from the area and are at evacuation sites in Bastrop or Smithville.

Smithville and Bastrop is just south of Austin TX.

Please pray for all in the area and that they get this fire under control.

We know there is nothing impossible for You to do to stop these fires and save these people and others from facing the disaster brought by them!
