Prayers for my nephew, Scott.....

Most of you know that he left Jan 22, 09 for boot camp near the Great Lakes! He has been terribly ill with the flu and is confined to his quarters in the barracks. He told his mom, Wanda, that he didn't think he had ever been that sick before and, therefore, he will be weak when able to go back to his training with his crew. They are behind anyway and his being sick didn't help the situation! He said it wasn't him, but a couple of others in his crew that weren't doing what they are supposed to do.....Soooooo, please pray for him that he will be healed back to health and able to keep up with his training for the Navy Seals! Thank you and God Bless! :) Betty

Ma Betty---Tell Scott if you get to communicate with him, to just hang in there and he will make it through boot camp. It was a big adjustment for me as I joined while I was still in high school. As soon as I graduated, it was off to a whole new way of life. Most of boot camp is head games they play with you to get you used to their way of life. There were times I thought I would not make it, but I did. As with Scott and his boot camp company, their were a few in our company that drug their feet. Everyone is a team, and its up to the leaders to pull everyone together. He will make it through. Compared to the Seal training he will go through later, boot camp is a piece of cake. I never went to Seal school, but watched them train. That is why I have the utmost respect for anyone who is a Navy Seal. Keep me updated on Scotts' training. We will continue praying for Scott, and for his recovery from this illness. Sometimes the stress of training and the food combined can take its toll. God Bless

Thank you, DK, for your nice post for Scott! His mother, Wanda, asked him how he liked the food and he said it was great (but probably didn't eat much during his flu illness) and was almost as good as her cooking! Wanda is a wonderful cook and prepares delicious foods....hard to stop eating when at her house for meals!

Yes, I believe Scott will make it through and hopefully my grandson, Joseph (Joey) will, as he is up there too for his navy training....haven't heard about him but Tami, his mom, said he was supposed to graduate in five weeks and he left at the same time as Scott.....but don't know if they know that the other is there! Scott is supposed to graduate March 20 and Wanda, Amanda, Melinda and Christine (his sisters) are supposed to go when they get all the info. Only four adults allowed to go per enlisted man! I can just imagine the big thrill of their graduation! Hope moms take lots of pics, if they are able to do so! :) God Bless! Betty

Thanks to all for your prayers and I know with Scott's determination to be a Navy Seal that he will try to do his best. He had been training at the YMCA and with all kinds of exercise equipment at home....because being of slender build, he wanted to be strong enough to pass the tests and physical training! So far, he has except for this bout with being terribly ill with the flu! I forgot to say he is or was confined to his bed in the barracks! He prays and attends church services where he is on Sundays! So God is with him! God Bless! Betty
