Hi Folks; Here's one for you.!!!! My Sister took my kid out for a Birthday Party. Theme of the party was Roller Skating. Well neither of them have ever been on roller skates before but off they went. 1 hour later I get a call from my Sister at the party. She fell.!!! Her knee was badly swollen but she would stay for my kid at the party. Then about 20 minutes later I get another call. My kid fell on her wrist but seems ok. I'm sitting here doing the Parent's Shuffle.!!! sure enough they both come back after 6 hours at the party. They're telling me they had fun and I was staying cool.WELL., About 10:30pm last night they both stated to complain about pain. Especially my kid. So I call an Ambulance and get them both to Childrens Hospital in Boston to get patched up. Man, WHAT A PATCH.!!!! Find out my sister has ruptured her Right Patela and is now in an Ace Bandage. Now on my kid. They take her in and do some
X-Rays. They come back weird so they sent her to the Ortho Doctor. Come to find out that she has literally broken "EVERY" bone in her wrist, her thumb, and part of her Forearm. Now I'm FLOORED.!!!!! By the time we get home it now 3:15AM. I haven't been to bed since 4:50AM the day BEFORE.!!!! I missed my own therapy as well. What I can not figure out for the life of me is how does anyone able to wait almost 11 hours before they realize they are that badly hurt????? I'm STUMPED.!!!! I broke my wrist before and I "KNEW" right away. She waited 11 hours. Kicker is now it is 10:30PM at night before she said anything. There are no busses that go in that direction. And it was 3:15Am in the morning when we got done. We had to take a taxi home which costs $57.00 which I don't have but had to anyway.!! If she had said she was hurt rightaway we could have gotten a ride from our nieghbor and taken the trainss home. How does anyone wait 11 hours before complaining???? God help me on this one. "PLEASE" I'm Floored.Anyway the break is so bad that she'll be in the cast for 6 MONTHS. and she just started school.!!!! Oh What Fun!!!!! Please pray she heals well and there are no problems there.
