Pre Civil War find!

Finally found a pre Civil War coin!!

I was visiting relatives out of town and basically killing time before dinner at a nearby park. The ground was semi thawed and with some effort I could dig the dirt out in chunks. After digging several coins, in an area I've detected many times before I got a very clear 88 VDI and about 7 or 8 inches down was an 1852 Braided Liberty large cent....woo hoo!

Without pictures it did not happen

I hear ya daddyflea! I can't seem to get a good picture with my camera but I will try again.

Correction; the date is 1853 not 1852.

It is best to scan those with the Scanner on your PC
