today 2 friends and I hunted an old farm, I got 4 silvers, several wheats, a 1908 V-nickel (my 8th this year, 2nd this week!). Got this cool Culver Badge, I researched it and it is from Culver Military Academy that was founded in 1894, not sure how old it is. My friend walked right over it, he assumed it was a aluminum can, I saw him lift his coil about 6-8" off the ground over it and walked away. I went over checked it out and it was a solid 44 on my x-70, so I dug down about 4" and out it popped, I think it is a real cool find.

I dug a total of 71 targets there, 29 was clad, 15 old coins, the badge, cheapo ring, so only about 25 trash items. That is a great ratio in my opinion. that puts me at 60 silver coins for the year.

Nice finds. What vdi did the v nickel give?
it was a little lower than a zince penny, and bounced all over, old deep nickels never give a solid or good signal for me..........but it was sweet sounding and fairly deep so i dug, glad I did!

Love the Culver badge!
