pro or gold ??

First ? should I get the pro or gold . I live in Snohomish Wash. near salt water
my son lives in fairbank Ak.so I will use it for gold also

AT Gold will not work in salt water, but has a depth advantage over the AT Pro with it's true all metal mode. Here's a chart to give you even more things to consider
 
What targets are you going to be searching for? What primary metal? You got some pockets of mineralization in your area others are not familiar with. Which one is better suted for your area? Be certain, if you are going to use it in sea water you will not be disappointed. Look for a cluib in your locale for advice. Look not only at the features, but the benefits of each.Take that in consideration when purchasing a detector. Take some time and do thourough research on your own. The final decision will be yours.
