Guys are the new Minelabs (XS,SE, etc...) as good as the Explorer II?
Do they go as deep?
Do they have as much power to find them deeper buried coins?
I've noticed one thing for sure.....I'm digging in ground I've pounded with a GTI 2500, a Fisher CZ7A, several BH3300,Trackers,Tek Turbo's,T2, Mark I etc....etc....etc.... and guys I'm making better finds than ever! I've located two gold rings this month....and older coins that the other detectors HAD to pass right over.

And I haven't had a learning curve at all with this Explorer II yet...of course I've never gotten out of the smart find screen yet so I'm no wheres near the MineLabs potential yet!

Heck I hope my tax collector isn't following me around! This tax free money is getting really good!

Seriously Forks for those of you who own newer Minelabs...Talk to me are they still that good!

Cause I know I'm gonna wear this one out!

Don't matter if you have the S, XS, 2, or the SE, they all get the job done. That is what you get when you go to the top of the line Minelab Detector for Land Hunting. Finds the Keepers the other Beepers leave behind. I too am in need of a New Detector real soon but I will use my XS until it's Spirit is no longer with me. I am ONE with MY MACHINE!!! Good Luck and HH!thumbup:

OH Ya, there is some relics and most are good ones.

That Seated Half Dime is in Awesome Shape! What I wouldn't do to dig some of those kind of Coins. Hope there is more waiting for you and Good Luck and HH to you.

I guess you have shown that you are not a Relic Hunter but a Coin Hunter. Congrats on all those fantastic finds throught the years. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

Thanx James, I have more half Dimes but was just throwing samples out there. You posted a nice Half Dime a while back didn't you?

Seated Half Dime. I have found plenty of the Canadian Silver 5c Fishscales that are the same size as the Half Dime but no Half Dimes. It must be tough were you live to be able to go out and find OLD Coins like those! I can bet everything is getting pretty well picked over also. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.

Own an XS and hard for me to believe anything could be any better and believe me they take a beating and keep on ticking...Yep used the 11 model but have not had the pleasure of using the SE and imagine with any new model comes another bell or whistle and feel those that upgrade do well also but for half the price an XS will surely hold its ground with new models as a lot depends upon the nut behind the wheel and how well he uses the unit he presntly owns...

Over 6 and half years with the original XS and the electronics are still going strong, still using original stock coil and have been thru a couple 8" ML coils, but I am a brush beater.

My Original Coil stopped working on me on I believe the 2nd Year that I had the XS and luckily, the Detector was still under warranty but barely. Minelab sent me a New Coil Free Of Charge. Thanks Minelab. That was back in 2003. Since then, I haven't had much of any problems except with the Upper Shaft not fitting tight anymore due to some Paint Loss on the Shaft that goes into the Control Housing, so now I have to shim it with Electrical Tape which does the job. The only other problem that I have been having is my Explorer XS currently (started in the middle of last year) sometimes starts to give me a lot of false readings while running in Conduct with a Gain set at 10 and 22 Semi-Auto. The false signals all read 0 on Digital. Sometimes I will get 1 or 2 falses when I start a sweep usually on the left swing and sometimes I will get 2-3 falses during the sweep. No loose connectors or dirt in the Coil Covers. I think it may be internally so it may have to go in for a check-up after the year is over. I love my Explorer XS and it has done me well since Fall of 2001 with over 1000 Silver and 1,000's of other Old Coins that I have been happy to add to the collection. Other than that, my XS is still kicking strong and I won't ever get rid of her unless it goes to the great beyond and can't be fixed. Good to hear your Explorer is doing great, Good Luck and HH Don.

Going on 6 years old and it is a coin and relic magnet. My hunting partner swings an explorer 2 and we have determined that on coins they are identical. On civil war relics my xs is hotter on brass such as buttons and his 2 is hotter on lead such as bullets. When my xs finally breaks down I will be on ebay buying another one. Heck this one has paid itself off many times over....especially with this find...1792 half disme!!!!
