Problem sound in Sovereign GT

Moraito

New member
Hi all, I have the following question.
I have a Minelab sorereign gt silver and I detected a low tone when in reality deveria detect a high pitch.

I have another sov, Elite broken,,, I can exchange eepro the elite with the gt?

All the other metals detected in the correct tones only detects bad silver gives it low as foil.

A greeting.

Are you sure the silver doesn't have any iron or steel in the mix? Ive read about coins like this and would guess they would give the Sov a problem.
The sov is very anti iron, it has a preset high iron disc setting on its lowest setting. Even some tiny earrings I have tested on it test as iron...they null the threshold on a 0 disc setting so it has to be the disc preset..
you can always call the minelab repair center and speak with a tech to get better info.

Is that air testing silver or in your soil? I know larger silver coins will show lower on a TID multi freq machine because of size and density but it should never be a LOW tone. Do you have another machine and if so..... hows it reading? Thin tiny silver may with near targets, bad soil and a little depth sound lower.... especially if you dont have much time on the Sov..... otherwise i cant think of any reason silver would sound like foil.... especially a coin when all other targets sound right.

Thank you all for your help, the fact is that the evidence is silver jewelry in particular several rings of different sizes, the testing should have done in the air and have to say that the machine always use in notch disc 0 and 0.

If I turn potentiometer discriminated logically the last thing I miss is the money that it works well but the sound of the tone is a low tone.

They also prove the pieces with my other machine is a excalibur which is basically the same electronics and this if I detect silver in high tone.

Thanks again for your help.
