Problem with Deus Programs

canslaw

New member
I have made a couple of programs with the goal of getting the most depth available from my xp deus, but either there is something wrong with my settings, or something wrong with my detector. I was out with a buddy this morning and was unable to hear a quarter two inches below the surface in a football field with either of my programs, but was able to switch to basic 1 and hear it fine.

I made two programs, one for fast, one for slow. Settings are as follows:

Fast

Ground Balance manual. At gb level or +1

Freq. 17.6
Disc 0
3 Tones : 1st, 0 2nd, 0-20, 3rd, 20-100 (basically a two tone program, low or high.)
Sensitivity 99
TX power 2
Iron Volume 3
Reactivity 3
Silencer -1
Audio Resp. 4
Notch 00-00

Slow

Ground Balance manual. At gb level or +1

Freq. 17.6
Disc 0
3 Tones : 1st, 0 2nd, 0-20, 3rd, 20-100 (basically a two tone program, low or high.)
Sensitivity 99
TX power 2
Iron Volume 3
Reactivity 1
Silencer -1
Audio Resp. 4
Notch 00-00

no tone whatsoever. not even chop. i raised the coil thinking it was too close and still nothing. I had a buddy there with a fisher f75se and we were both shocked. I could only get it if I switched to basic 1. I didnt try the other factory programs.

Tell you what, try this..Go in to basic one. Then save it (all settings intact) in one of your slots with a name. Then try the program you saved (basic 1 look a like) and see if it works right. This will eliminate a detector problem, and then we can look at your program data you seem to have problems with.

If I copy basic 1 it works. Is there anyway someone else could fire up there deus and try my settings and see if they get similar results?

How long have you had or used your Deus ??? did you try the factory setting before attempting to make your own progs.

I have a Deus but have nevewr seen the need to alter any of the setting aprt from minor in filed tweaks, infact i just use Basic1 and Deus Fast those 2 are used almost all the time, the only changes i do was to use 2 tones and that is basically all i use.

It works on all my sites in the UK and dont plan on changing them either, but was just wondering why you had wanted to alter so many settings.

Okay, now what I want you to do is this. Go back into the program you just saved. Go ahead and make all changes to it with your PROGRAM settings you had problems with. ONE Exception, don't mess with (change) the tones. After you get your settings in go ahead and save. Then test.

This worked with the standard tone settings. It seems it doesn't like my attempt at a two tone setting.

So how do I make a program two tone? 0-20 growl, 21+ high?

edit:I should mention that my goal is too use no discrim to maximize depth.

For 2 tone basically 1 tone (low) will be for everything within the disc setting say 0-6, the high tone will be for every thing else 6-99.
And this low tone area will move as you move your disc.

is there no way to have 2 tone without losing depth with discrimination?

You won't lose any depth as long as you keep your disc below 8. Here's how I set mine up. And can use it for coin hunting and relic hunting. Select 3 tone. Remember your first tone break is already set (will be your disc), So for the second tone I use a medium frequency and I run my mid tone from disc setting up to 70. Then the 3rd tone is 71-99 (where most coins excepth nickels will ring) and I select the highest frequency for this 3rd tone.

And remember with the above setup, in a real trashy area you can still use notch.

With Disc at 0, the iron volume setting is rendered virtually useless. Stay above 2 on Disc if Iron volume control is desired.

I never use sensitivity at 99. I find anything over 93 I get bouncy VID.

I had a merc at 8 inches and solid vid at sensivity at 90 got louder at 93 any thing past that messed up tones and vid
