product opinion

Infinium beats sea hunter in every way except price. They are both really heavy though and there are lighter options if you want a PI out of water.

For beach/water hunting I would choose the Sea Hunter MK II because it's easier to use for general salt water beach hunting and also because it got Standard/Discrete trash elimination.

If mainly Gold prospecting and for beaches with volcanic Black sand I would go for the Infinium LS as it has ground balancing capability, it also have 3 DD coils and 2 Mono coils to choose from ............ As a bonus the Infinium LS DD coils can be used on an ATX.

I also have and use all 3 of these versatile detectors for above mentioned purposes.

As far as overall performance, I would pick the Infinium. It has more target ID options. Low-high signal for most copper and silver. High-low signal for most gold. Iron, unfortunately will read both. But, it has an iron check to increase your probability to rule out iron. The audio duration after the coil has gone over a target will give you an idea as to it's size. The Infinium's operating frequency can be adjusted to help eliminate EMI and can also be adjusted to deal with local mineralization issues.

The trash elimination on the Sea Hunter will rob you of a lot of depth.. Don't use it.

The Sea Hunter is a simple turn on and go PI detector. The Infinium can be set up per different sites requirements.

Both machines are built inside an excellent water proofed box, which rarely gives Garrett any issues. Both detectors go deep and are both excellent PI machines.. Good luck with your purchase!
