once there, do I go to 'all programs' and tick boxes for what I want as global setting, or...go to each individual program and tick boxes for what common attributes I want them to look at or...?

Please clarify; the manual is a little unclear...

What are generally being used as common attributes for y'all??

I usually set up my global settings in my common program and tick "all programs".

I have all my configure settings global so all my programs use the same colors, screen etc.
I have my live controls and tones included.
Since I don't discriminate VDI but assign those I don't want a zero tone discriminate can also be assigned an exclude setting.
