Prospecting Icons

Page 33 of the owners guide says typical prospecting icons. Just got back from NC and at no time did I get any icons in the prospecting mode, Just VDI #s. Got two hot rocks that I couldn't knock out at -10. they were flat, black and sparkly. I knocked out a yellow one that another guy found, no sound on it at all. Does any one elses V3 do this?
Thanks Ron

On page 50 of the manual the configure chart the icons are marked as "OFF" in the prospecting program.I went into the configure screen but never found where it could be turned on.On the -10 hot rocks,as the stock program's discrimination is set up in the prospecting program, -10 is an accepted VDI number.Ive used the prospecting mode a few times and am contemplating assigning a different audio to the +10 - +40 VDI range or tightening up the discrimination range because I dont really like watching the screen while Im searching.Im not sure if narrowing the discrimination range would have any negative effects though.

OK! That helped.
From expert menu click on configure, live search screen, search, click icons- you will now have an X in box. Icons are now turned on.
Now all I have to do is test my hot rocks.
Thanks. Ron
