Prospecting with PI's

It seems that many people are simply wild about the Minelab SD's. Problem is.. they cost way too much. Going through the Tesoro booklet I noticed that they claim their SandShark PI machine can be used for prospecting. Has anyone tried using a land/water machine for prospecting and,if so, what results? How small/deep the nugget and how do they stack up against the SD's? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. The primary reason why I figured that an u-water style PI might work is that the claim for ALL pi's is that they're unaffected by mineralization, iron or any other. Is this claim b.s.? 'cause I also read a field test in lost treasure wherein the guy took a Fisher Impulse out land hunting in an area where the iron mineralization was so extreme as to render vlf units almost unuseable. He reported that the pi unit was unaffected and, indeed (except for finding lots of tiny iron), worked like a champ. What to think, what to think...
