I got my 2025 metal detecting finds sorted out and counted. There is lots of jewelry, silver coins and old tokens not shown. Too much stuff found this year. I did extremely well metal detecting the North Saskatchewan River at home and look forward to 2026! I pretty well paid for my new metal detector using it this year
Here's the "BLUE BEAST" which turned out to be a real good coin and ring magnet. Once I got it set up and tuned to my liking, it kept producing non-stop. I also dug many old tokens, square nails, old lipstick tubes just to name a few. Just too much stuff to post.
26 rings (I gave one away to a buddy who wanted the ruby to recreate something for his wife.) I also dug multiple chains, single earrings and brooches. I had posted pics of them earlier this year.
Here's my breakdown of my coins I dug. I hunted areas hunted out by previous detectorists. They graciously left behind a lot of modern clad, simply because what they were using to metal detect identified those coins as junk! I am looking forward to getting out again, as the kids are using the sled hills a plenty this year. There's a lot of cold cash in "dem der" sled hills!
The VORTEX VX-9 is a coin magnet. Because of it's ability to read two different conductors at once, it made finding our bi-coins (toonies) so easy. Having such a good assortment of search coils allows to Vortex to hunt in all types of condions, including junky areas. My favorite is the 5" x 8" DD Vortex Ripper. It gets into tight spots, works well in areas where a lot of junk exists and gets excellent depth for it's size.
